LYING FIGURE- This is the first monster James comes across as he sees it disappear into the fog. Although slow they can leave a nasty bite.In the first part of the game they are everywhere.They usually stagger toward James and when close enough emit a stream of acid -so keep your distance.

CREEPER- These are similar to the bugs found in SH1. They are easy to avoid but in the dark corners of Silent Hill you might not be aware they are around until you see your health depleting!

MANNEQUIN - Stands motionless in the dark places of Silent Hill. Only James' torch will set them off. They remain quiet and motionless waiting for you to come by.It attacks more rapidly than the Lying Creature but if you time your move correctly you can dispatch them with the iron bar or steel pipe and save on ammo.

BUBBLE HEAD NURSE- Found inthe Hospital and in the "Dark" Silent Hill- these are dangerous foes as they are armed with an iron pipe and can use it quite effectively.Unless you are an expert with the steel pipe use firearms to dispose of inthe hospital.They also hunt in packs in the dark corridors so dont get cornered by having one sneak up behind you whilst you deal with the one in front! They can be quickly out manouvered in the open. One of the more disturbing images in Silent HIll.

MANDARIN- These creatures are seldom seen.They appear only in three locations hanging between grilles-simply run over them.Dont stand still as they can spike you.

ABSTRACT DADDY- James first bumps into this creature in the Prison.Running away is not an option so you have to fight it- use the shotgun from distance.Be careful as you think its dead- but its not! This creature also appears in the Lakeside View Hotel,.
