Heather's real name is Cheryl Mason, the adopted daughter of Harry, who survived Silent Hill. She is also known as Alessa Gillespie, the daughter of Dahlia Gillespie. When Harry escaped Silent Hill, Alessa came back as an apparition and presented him with a newborn baby, which is both Cheryl, and Alessa herself, reborn. Harry, in an attempt to throw the cult off - should they come and look for both him and the child - renamed her Heather, and relocated to another city.

The heroine of the story,Heather is a typical teenager- still bearing some of the conceit and naivete.She has a few rough edges and tends to be blunt with others.Nevertheless,she loves her father ,Harry,and her source of kindness is the one thing that can save her.
